Ethics Framework - Example MSF

Ethics Framework - Example MSF

Before conducting research it is important to check necessary ethical considerations and to consult the national guidelines and responsible institutions. This can be a long process and the required time has to be considered.

MSF (2010: 48) has developed an ethics framework and its principles and benchmarks can support NGOs to check the necessary ethical consideration.

The following principles are included:

  • Collaborative Partnership
  • Social Value
  • Scientific Validity
  • Fair Selection of Study Population
  • Favorable Harm-Benefit Ratio
  • Informed Consent
  • Respect for Recruited Participants and Study Communities
  • Independent Review.
